In this post I put together a list of 31 websites using huge type to achieve its visual goals and keep it simple yet attractive and professional.
Big Typography:
It’s a trend on it’s own and has the ability to keep it simple but still attractive. Using big typography can be your full website theme and if you decide to use it together with images, make sure you get the right balance as both will scream for attention and the right hierarchy needs to be achieved.

very nice post!
Question: if you use big fonts, you need to keep in mind that not all visitors have a high resolution set on their computer. What about people who use 1024×768 or smaller. Do designers need to keep this in mind? If so, what is the best resolution for creating these kind of sites?

This is a nice collection. I always believe that typography has the power to lift a website single-handedly from being just good to simply great. And these big typos can actually add an extra attraction. But, you need to balance them otherwise your design may look too clumsy.
