This year was a great one for the web design community and in this post I’ll take you through the cream of the crop of 2009!

The advent of design and especially web design – related blogs, sure didn’t start this year but it was a good one in terms of new references and quality. The amount of people willing to share is amazing and the community is a really vibrant one, making it awesome to be part of it.

Lots of content and great quality, all about web design for the community!

Awesome Tutorials and Freebies are guaranteed!
Speckyboy
Gathers a lot of weekly information on webdesign, a great center point!
Six Revisions
With Jacob Gube as the main guy, it gathers posts from a lot of contributors and delivers updated and in depth tutorials and articles, recommended!
Noupe
Recently acquired by no other than Smashing Magazine…Noupe is a unique style blog with exclusive content!
Inspired Magazine
Inspired Mag really delivers inspiration through daily updates and great articles, good community surrounding it too.
CSS Globe
Run by Alen Grakalic, CSS Globe provides awesome information on web development and design aswell posting great articles and gathering the best ones around.
My Ink Blog
Created by Andrew Houle, this is a great blog with great articles, tuts, interviews and giveaways!
OneXtraPixel
Very visual blog with amazing round ups and inspiration articles, recommended!

As a webmaster , I’m extremely glad to see that someone thought to post this topic.
All too many people out there just don’t understand what all is needed in this field, and I think also we’re many times not appreciated enough
or taken for granted. Never the less I’m immensely glad to see that you may feel the same way I do , thanks so much for your blog!

Marco, thank you very much for including the Design Informer. It’s really an honor to be included in a showcase of the top web design blogs. I’m very humbled.
By the way, this is a great collection of blogs. I personally follow all these blogs daily and I can definitely say that I have learned tons of new and useful things from all these blogs.
I would have to say though that Smashing Magazine is by far my favorite from all these blogs. (Other than the Design Informer, of course.)
Thanks for compiling this list. It’s definitely a list that will be useful to web designers who are just getting started and want to learn as much as they can about web design and development.
